Would you like to follow current events, but find them
depressing and hard to relate to? If so,
let me help. Here are current events and
public figures put to movies. This may
help you find things more relatable and more palatable.
Remember that Willie
Nelson classic western, Barbarossa? In that cinema great, Willie played a man
with an ongoing feud with a powerful family.
The modern remake of the movie makes a bold casting decision by naming a
black woman to be the lead. Omarosa Manigault-Newman is taking on
the role. The remake will be called Omarosa.
Former White House communications staffer, Hope Hicks, is
considering two movie projects. One is a
remake of the Sandra Bullock vehicle,
Hope Floats. The other is a story of
survival called Hope Flips.
There has been much speculation about what role first
lady, Melanie Trump, might eventually play.
There is some thought she may star in a modern day rendition of The Goodbye Girl. So far those talks haven’t gained any
traction.
Not to be outdone, White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, has also been offered
a revision of an old Shirley MacLaine role.
Sanders has been offered the role of a religious woman who verbally
slaughters sheep like journalists who annoy her. The original MacLaine movie was Two Mules for Sister Sara. The remake is Two Ewes for Sister Sarah.
Stormy Daniels has also been in the news. Recently she was arrested in Ohio for doing
her striptease act. The police say it
was just a coincidence, but Daniels attorney says she was targeted because of her relationship
with Donald Trump. The movie that may
come out of the situation is tentatively titled, Stormy Troopers.
Robert
Mueller also hasn’t escaped the movie craze. He’s up to star in an updated version of Romancing the Stone. Be on the lookout for Romancing the Roger Stone soon.
Remember that expensive cinema flop, Heavens Gate? A legal drama
is being put together about a man who committed numerous famous crimes during a
presidential campaign. The working title is, Good Heavens Gates!
Congressmen are also getting involved. In one of a number of his forgettable movies,
Kevin Costner played a guy in a
post-apocalyptic world who started delivering the mail. Rand
Paul does a similar thing, delivering mail from the US to Russia in the
modern remake of The Postman.
In a group of movies that desperately needs a comedic
break, along comes the remake of a Pauly
Shore movie. You might recall, or
quite possibly not, remember Shore playing a fish out of water in Son in Law. Jared
Kushner is playing the title role of the remake to decidedly mixed reviews.
There you have it.
You’ll probably never thing of some of your favorite movies in the same
light again.
