Check out my cartoons.
1. Earl
Battey. The White Sox traded Battey and
Don Mincher for Roy Sievers. Not a real
good move by the Sox.
2. Bill
Lee. When he wasn’t doing strange stuff,
Bill was winning a lot of ballgames.
From 1973-75 Bill won 17 games each season for the Red Sox.
3. Boog
Powell. In addition to hitting home runs
for the Orioles, Boog also made some pretty good beer commercials.
4. Bo
Belinsky. Bo was known more his dating
habits than his pitching, but he did show some potential early on.
5. Mark
Malone. That was probably the highlight
of Mark’s career, which is probably not a good thing for a QB.
6. Art
Schlichter. Schlichter’s gambling problems
were brutal. His is a sad, potentially cautionary
tale of addiction and gambling.
7. Darrell
Griffin. After helping Louisville win a
NCCAA championship, Darrell spent 10 seasons with the Jazz. In four of those
seasons, he averaged 20+ ppg.
8. Billie
Paultz. Billy’s career was highlighted
by his time in San Antonio which saw him average about 11 ppg.
9. Jack
Snow. In 1967 Snow caught 28 catches for
an average of 26.3 yards per catch.
10. Hal
Greer. Hal spent all 13 seasons of his NBA
career with the 76ers, averaging 20.4 ppg.
He was also durable, playing 80 or more games nine times during his
career.
