1. Joe Barry Carroll. Regardless of
what you may think of Joe, in seven season with Golden State, he
averaged 20.4 ppg. He played with four more teams after leaving the
Warriors, but not nearly as effectively.
2. Gary Matthews. Gary had a long
career with a number of teams, but the 1984 campaign was his best.
His OBP was a league leading .410 and he led the NL with 10 sacrifice
flies.
3. Manny Sangullen. In 12 seasons
with the Pirates, Manny had an OPS of .733 while providing excellent
defense.
4. Truck Robinson. For a few years
Truck was good for over 20 points and 10 rebounds a game.
5. Turk Farrell. All together, Turk
spent 14 seasons in the bigs and put together a record of 106-111
with an ERA of 3.45.
6. Vada Pinson. Vada was a great
line drive hitter who twice led the NL in doubles and led the league
in triples two more times. He finished his career with a batting
average of .286.
7. Bill Munson. Bill spent 16
seasons in the NFL, starting 66 games. Munson seems like the epitome
of a journeyman NFL QB.
8. Dennis Potvin. Potvin was pretty
much everything you’d want in a defenseman
9. Ron Fairly. Ron was a member of
the Dodgers during the 60s but did his best work with the Expos in
the early to mid 70s.
10. Greg Cook. Greg is another
example of “if only”.
