1. Ron Swoboda. Ron is another cult
hero member of the Miracle Mets.
2. Harvey Marin. The Cowboys 1977
defensive line had Martin, Ed “Too Tall Jones, Jethro Pugh and
Randy White. In retrospect, that’s one of the best defensive lines
I can remember.
3. Greg Kelser. I think Greg missed
Magic when he got to Detroit.
4. Chris Mullin: Chris was a
prolific offensive player while being not terribly athletic.
5. Chip Banks: Chip went on to play
for the Chargers and Colts.
6. Dennis Maruk: Dennis was the best
player on some bad teams.
7. Dave Righetti: Dave recorded 224
saves with the Yankees. He had one season with the Giants that saw
him save 24 games. After that, his days as an effective reliever
were pretty well over.
8. Richie Hebner: A good left handed
hitter, Richie became an excellent pinch hitter latter in his career.
He finished his playing days with the Cubs.
9. Chuck Foreman: Chuck had an
excellent spin move in his early days with the Vikings. As he got
older, that spin slowed down quite a bit.
10. Joe Morrison: Joe had an
Everyman quality about him that made him a fan favorite.
