I Remember Them Sports Quiz 82





1. After coming out of Creighton, this 7’0” center began his NBA career with the LA Clippers and played for them for six seasons, averaging 13.3 ppg and 8.7 rebounds. He then bounced around with several other teams. He was generally considered under performing. (4 points)

2. This right guard out of Michigan State was a Pro Bowler from 1975-79 while playing with the Buffalo Bills. He also named to the Pro Bowl in 1980 while playing for the Browns. (3 points)

3. An outstanding LB, this man spent his entire career 14 year career with the Redskins during the 60s and 70s. He was named to nine Pro Bowls and four All Pro teams. (3 points)

4. He was the Blue Jays first baseman for most the 80s. His best season was 1983 when he hit .306 with 27 homers and 104 RBIs. (4 points)

5. A long time Dodger, this infielder/outfielder stared his career when the team was in Brooklyn in 1953 and retired after the 1966 season. He was the Rookie of the Year in 1953. (4 points)

6. After coming out of South Carolina State, this LB was a stalwart for the Giants from 1976-88. He was named to the Pro Bowl nine times. (2 points)

1. Benoit Benjamin. Benoit was like Joe Barry Carroll, only not as productive, though he was a good shot blocker.

2. Joe DeLamielleure. Joe was also named to the All Pro team three times during the 70s.

3. Chris Hanburger. Chris intercepted 19 passes and recovered 17 fumbles during his career.

4. Willie Upshaw. He also had decent seasons in 1982 and 1984.

5. Jim Gilliam. Jim had a surprisingly high career WAR of 40.9. Jim had speed and an ability to get on base which helped offset a lack of power.

6. Harry Carson. Harry was one of a number of great linebackers the Giants had in the 70s.

7. Ron Harper. Ron was able to be a useful player on a championship tam because of his willingness to adapt his game.

8. Brian Sutter. Brian was probably the best of the Sutter brothers. He was a three time all star.

9. Dave Henderson. Dave is probably most famous for his 2 out, two strike homer in the ninth inning of Game 5 of the 1986 ALCS off Donnie Moore.

10. Ken Holtzman. Ken pitched two no hitters with the Cubs and won 77 games for the A’s from 1972-75.
