I Remember Them Sports Quiz 25

1.  Don Nelson.  Nelly was a solid player and member of multiple Celtics championship teams as well as an excellent head coach.  His fashion taste was iffy.


2.  Dennis Shaw.  Dennis QBed the Bills through some lean years, leading the NFL in interceptions in 1971.


3.  Hoyt Wilhelm and Eddie Fisher.  Hoyt is pretty well known, but Eddie had a monster season in 1965, going with 15-7 with 24 saves.


4.  Vic Davalillo.  Vic’s career found a second life as a pinch hitter.  It’s amazing what you can do if you make contact as a hitter.


5.  Lenny Wilkens.  In a 15 year career he averaged 16.5 ppg and 6.7 assists.  He was a part of some solid St. Louis Hawks of the 60s.


6.  Chuck Mercin.  Chuck didn’t have a great NFL career, but he was excellent in one of the most dramatic drives in NFL history.


7.  Otis Sistrunk.  Otis was a good defensive lineman, but he was the source of one of the greatest lines in MNF.


8.  Ted Abernathy.  Ted had a mostly mediocre career with a couple of seasons of brilliance.

Leroy Keyes.  Leroy’s collegiate career was more noteworthy than his pro career, which is not unusual.

10.  Ed Kranepool.  Mets fans displayed a sense of humor in the early days of the franchise, which was a handy thing.  Ed ultimately had a long year career with the Mets.
