outstanding defenseman’s career was spent with the Maple Leafs. He
finished the career with the Red Wings. His career spanned from
1973-90. H e was on of the best defensemen in the NHL for a number

1. Bjorn Salming. Bjorn was the
first Swedish player to be inducted in he NHL Hall of Fame.
2. Terry Pendelton. Terry’s 1992
season was also excellent.
3. Sixto Lezcano. Sixto’s big
league career was over fairly quickly. He was only 31 during his
last season in the majors.
4. Jim Otis. Jim gained 1075 rushing
during the 1975 season.
5. Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell.
Cedric shot .546 from the field for his career, twice leading the NBA
in that category.
6. Antoine Carr. Antoine ultimately
played for the Hawks, Kings , Jazz, Rockets and Grizzlies.
7. Bobby Bonilla. Though his
contract is a punchline, there was a time when Bobby was a seriously
good ballplayer.
8. Bob Gainey. Though Bob was a
defensive ace, he did score 239 goals and pick up 262 assists during
his career.
9. Gino Cappelletti. Gino also even
managed to pick off four passes as a defensive back in 1960.
10. Andy Van Slyke. Andy had two
seasons with a WAR of 6.0 or more. In 1992 he led the NL in hits and
doubles. He led the NL in triples with 15 in 1988.
